A key part of the Highway to Hull Burlesque Weekender is documenting our history, celebrating our trailblazers, and preserving the legacy of burlesque in the UK.
Burlesque as we know it began in the UK, yet there has never been an official way to document our history or recognise the people who have helped shape it. Our community is full of performers, producers, educators, and creatives whose work has inspired others and helped burlesque thrive. The Highway to Hull Burlesque Honours were created to celebrate those contributions and ensure they become part of our shared history.
As well as Icon of the Year, Changemaker of the Year, and Supporting Act of the Year, we also run a Troupe Tournament! On the night 6 troupes perform in front of our audience and esteemed panel of judges, and one winner is crowned Troupe of the Year.
2026 Winners
Nominations were collected online until 31st July before being passed to an independent selection panel, who made the final decisions.
The recipients of the 2026 Highway to Hull Burlesque Honours were announced on Sunday 30th August during the Icons and Changemakers show.
